Sweeney’s documentary was more about Sweeney than Scientology.
Sweeney’s response to his first encounter with hard core Scientology leadership was the most interesting part of the movie, but; there was no real followup, or i might have fallen asleep. Once Tommy admitted that he had used psychology to defeat Sweeney in that first investigation, and how much Scientology people hate psychiatrists Sweeney should have moved on to discuss psychiatry instead of Sea Corps. I think that if people could understand that initiates into Scientology are encouraged to divulge innermost thoughts, and ideations, those “nasty little thoughts”, and that this information is used to control them afterwords. In ‘1984″ Big Brother uses the main character’s fear of rats to subdue his resistance. This is what Scientology does.
