If anyone was looking for some ideas about why Redditors/Redditards are generally more pretentious and uninformed than the rest of the internet then this is not the documentary for you.

However, I do have my own ideas about the Reddit’s negative reputation. Reddit was such a big part of the early forum days that it attracted a lot of early internet addicts. Who tended to be young males with a lot of free time. As forums became more popular, educated and professional people eventually started spending more time on the internet but were turned off by the majority of Redditors users already using it. I think Reddit and 4chan turned the internet into a more closed-off place. Where a lot of the good forums try to remain under the radar of the major sites. They need to rely on slower methods of gaining new members because posting links on major websites can lead to Redditors/Redditards coming to a forum en masse and turning it into another Reddit.
